Translate your experience into civilian directions.
Career transition support
Veteran Slice helps service members, veterans, and military spouses or partners turn experience, goals, and current pressure into one useful next decision.
Start with what you want to change. You will only be asked for context that could materially improve the decision.
A useful first step
You do not need a complete plan. Two focused answers can often produce first value.
Translate your experience into civilian directions.
Find the smallest credible learning step.
Compare places against work and life.
Start with the home you are leaving.
Administrative planning without diagnoses.
A yes, maybe, or no is enough to start.

Why Veteran Slice Exists
During my own military-to-civilian transition, translating a job title was not enough. I had to break the work into underlying capabilities, connect each claim to evidence, and use that evidence to evaluate paths I would not have found through literal occupational matching.
Veteran Slice turns that process into repeatable career-transition support for service members, veterans, and military spouses or partners. Each person owns their evidence, goals, education, decisions, and résumé.
The person making the transition remains the authority on what fits.
How Veteran Slice Works
Built for the All Things Agentic Hackathon
Gemini analyzes → you decide → Firestore preserves the change → later AI uses it.
Your Transition
HELM compares consequence, time, dependencies, authority, and recoverability, then surfaces one next action.
Do this next
Add a transition anchor to receive your first lifecycle orientation.
Nothing is waiting right now.
Completed work will stay here without adding urgency.
Scenario Mode
Move one consequential date and compare the result. Your current profile will not change.
Housing Slice
Three details can produce useful planning. A blank schema field is not automatically a missing question.
Healthcare Transition
You never need to share diagnoses, symptoms, disability status, or treatment details.
Ceremony Slice
Your work preferences
Mark each choice as a preference, strong preference, or requirement. You never have to explain why. These choices may guide work-setting, education-format, and relocation comparisons; they never change capability evidence or appear in a resume.
Employment Slice
Optional context accelerator
Veteran Slice will suggest only a few potentially useful career preferences. Nothing is remembered until you choose it, and the source text is not retained.
No optional career context is retained.
What You Bring
These are grounded in the story you shared, not assumptions about military service, spouse status, rank, gaps, or relocation.
Career directions
Capability evidence, what you want, and work conditions remain separate. The occupation is a verified anchor; the expression describes how the work could take shape.
Education Slice
Veteran Slice uses the careers you accepted or chose to explore, then looks for the smallest credible step between what you already bring and what the role may require. No additional school is a valid result.
Relocation Slice
Start with places that matter to you. Veteran Slice evaluates them against your current career decisions and life constraints. Market facts remain unverified until a trusted data source is connected.
Governed output
Paste a real job description. Veteran Slice freshly reads the minimum permitted current profile context, drafts a grounded one-column example, and flags unsupported requirements. The job description and generated output are not added to your profile.
Your Profile
Your interests, decisions, and next actions stay with the profile and guide what Veteran Slice does next.
